About the Role
As a Regional Events Coordinator for Unite Gay Network, you will play a vital role in keeping our events calendars up-to-date and relevant for our community. Your responsibilities will include identifying, researching, and updating event listings such as parties, meetups, cultural gatherings, and Pride events that are happening in specific regions and countries. By ensuring our events calendar remains comprehensive and current, you’ll help members stay informed and connected to activities that matter to them. This role is perfect for someone who is organized, passionate about event planning, and dedicated to fostering community engagement. Responsibilities
- Research and update the Unite Gay Network events calendar with relevant events and activities, such as parties, meetups, Pride celebrations, cultural events, and other community gatherings.
- Ensure all event listings are accurate, up-to-date, and provide essential details such as dates, times, locations, and ticket information if applicable.
- Collaborate with the team to identify new event categories and prioritize listings based on member feedback and regional trends.
- Organize and maintain the events calendar to ensure it is user-friendly and easy to navigate by all members.
- Regularly review and remove outdated or canceled events to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the calendar.
- Monitor local news, event platforms, and LGBTQ+ community updates to include noteworthy upcoming events.
- Assist in curating themed event guides for holidays, Pride seasons, and special occasions to enhance the user experience.
- Act as a key contributor to fostering a vibrant community by highlighting events that encourage connection, celebration, and inclusivity.
What we expect
- You are 18 years or older and align with the values and mission of Unite Gay Network.
- You have strong written and spoken English skills; additional language skills are a bonus, especially for researching events in international regions.
- You have a reliable laptop and a stable internet connection to carry out your responsibilities effectively.
- You have an eye for detail and experience managing event listings or working with online tools to organize information.
- You can commit to volunteering a minimum of 4 hours per week to research and update events in your assigned region.
- You demonstrate professionalism, especially when interacting with event organizers or community members.
- You are comfortable verifying event details and handling sensitive or culturally specific content with care.
- You stay informed about LGBTQ+ events and trends to ensure the calendar reflects exciting and relevant gatherings for our members.
