Members can explore an interactive map featuring gay bars, clubs, cruising areas, and relevant organizations, and join interest-based groups to build connections around shared passions. As a young and growing initiative, Unite Gay Network aims to expand its reach and features, creating a truly worldwide network that fosters connection, belonging, and empowerment.
About the Role
As a Knowledge Specialist for Unite Gay Network, you will play a vital role in creating valuable resources for our community. Your responsibilities will include researching, writing, and curating informative articles that resonate with our audience, covering topics such as LGBTQ+ history, mental health, relationships, and more. By crafting engaging and well-researched content, you’ll contribute to building a trusted knowledge center within the network. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about education, skilled in writing, and dedicated to empowering the LGBTQ+ community. Responsibilities
- Research and create well-structured, engaging, and informative articles that align with Unite Gay Network's mission and values.
- Develop content on topics relevant to the gay community, such as history, mental health, relationships, culture, and personal growth.
- Ensure all written content is accurate, inclusive, and sensitive to the needs of our diverse audience.
- Collaborate with the team to identify content themes and prioritize topics based on community interests and feedback.
- Edit and proofread articles to maintain a professional tone and high-quality standard across all published materials.
- Assist in curating a knowledge hub within the network, organizing resources for easy access by members.
- Stay informed on current trends, research, and discussions within the LGBTQ+ community to ensure the relevance and timeliness of content.
- Act as a key contributor to the network's educational resources, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for all members.
What we expect
- You are 18 years or older and align with the values and mission of Unite Gay Network.
- You have strong written English skills, with additional language skills being a bonus for creating inclusive and accessible content.
- You have a reliable laptop and a stable internet connection to support your research and writing tasks.
- You have experience in researching and writing engaging, informative content, particularly for online platforms.
- You can commit to volunteering a minimum of 4 hours per week.
- You are detail-oriented and able to maintain a professional and inclusive tone in all written materials.
- You are comfortable handling and writing about sensitive or LGBTQ+-focused topics with care and respect.
- You stay informed about current events, trends, and research within the LGBTQ+ community to ensure content is relevant and impactful.
